Description

A delicious and crunchy Butter Pecan Toffee Bark that satisfies your sweet tooth with its rich flavor and texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) water
  • 1 ½ cups (180 g) chopped pecans (reserve a handful for topping)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare your pan (3 minutes): Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Scatter half of the chopped pecans over the surface.
  2. Cook the toffee (10–12 minutes): Add butter, sugar, water, and corn syrup to a heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until melted and bubbling. Attach a candy thermometer and cook without stirring until it reaches 290–300°F (143–149°C). The mixture should be golden, shiny, and thick.
  3. Add flavor + pecans (1 minute): Remove from heat immediately. Stir in vanilla, salt, and remaining pecans.
  4. Pour and spread (2 minutes): Pour hot toffee over the pecans on your prepared sheet. Spread gently into a thin, even layer. Sprinkle extra pecans on top if desired.
  5. Cool and break (20–30 minutes): Allow the toffee to cool fully at room temperature. Break into delicious candy pieces.

Notes

  • Ensure to use a heavy saucepan for even heating.
  • Make sure to watch the toffee closely to avoid burning.
  • For an extra crunch, you can toast the pecans before adding them.
