- ¼ cup (60ml) vegetable oil (or melted unsalted butter)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted (for coating)
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions

- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, egg, milk, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 35 to 45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool on a wire rack for an additional 10 minutes.
- Brush the loaf with melted butter and roll in a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon until fully coated.
Notes
- Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
- Overmixing can lead to a dense loaf, so mix gently.
- For a thicker crust, apply an additional layer of cinnamon sugar after brushing with melted butter.
