Description

Indulge in this decadent treat of Cookie Dough Brownies that combines rich brownie layers with creamy cookie dough topped with mini M&M’s.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16.3 ounces box of fudge brownie mix (Betty Crocker brand)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salted butter (softened to room temperature)
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup mini m&m’s candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper and spray with baker’s spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  3. Spread the brownie batter in the prepared pan and bake for 30-33 minutes, until a toothpick comes out barely clean.
  4. Remove brownies from the oven and let them cool completely on the counter. Reduce oven temperature to 300°F.
  5. Spread all-purpose flour on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes to heat treat, then cool completely.
  6. In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  7. Add heavy cream and salt, mixing until fully incorporated.
  8. Gradually mix in the cooled flour until there are no white streaks remaining.
  9. Stir in the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  10. Scoop cookie dough onto the cooled brownie layer and gently spread it into an even layer.
  11. Sprinkle mini M&M’s over the cookie dough and gently press them down.
  12. Refrigerate the brownies for 30 minutes before slicing to serve.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Heat treating the flour is important to avoid any raw flour risks.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely before adding the cookie dough layer.
