- 4 medium potatoes, peeled & grated
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp flour (or cornstarch for gluten-free)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Grate the potatoes and squeeze out as much liquid as possible using a clean towel.
- Mix the potatoes with eggs, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add onion and garlic, and cook until soft.
- Season the beef with paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper, then let it cool slightly before assembling.
- Flatten some potato mixture into a thin pancake shape, add a spoonful of beef filling and sprinkle with cheese.
- Cover with another thin layer of potato mixture and seal the edges gently.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook each stuffed pancake for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Make sure to squeeze out the liquid from the grated potatoes for extra crispiness.
- Feel free to use different types of cheese based on your preference.
