Description
Savory Maple Bourbon Bacon Dip with Cheddar is a rich and creamy appetizer that combines savory bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, and a hint of sweetness from maple syrup, all enhanced by the depth of bourbon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz Bacon
- 8 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
- 2 tbsp Bourbon
- 2 tbsp Green Onions
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook chopped bacon until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, maple syrup, bourbon, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix until smooth, around 2-3 minutes.
- Gently stir in shredded cheddar, most of the cooked bacon (saving a bit for topping), and half of the green onions.
- Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe baking dish, spreading it evenly, and top it with the reserved bacon.
- Place in the oven and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, until hot and bubbly, with golden edges.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with remaining green onions. Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette.
Notes
- For a lighter option, substitute turkey bacon.
- Greek yogurt can be used as a healthier alternative to sour cream.
- Use Neufchâtel cheese for a lighter version of cream cheese.
- Honey can be used instead of maple syrup for sweetness.
- Chives can replace green onions if desired.
