Description

Taco Cups are a fun and delicious twist on traditional tacos, featuring wonton wrappers filled with seasoned ground beef, cheese, and topped with fresh toppings.


Ingredients

  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 1 lb. ground beef (or ground turkey or ground chicken)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (3 tbsp)
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • sour cream
  • 2 roma tomatoes, chopped
  • ¼ cup chopped green onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add in the onion and a sprinkle of salt. Cook for a few minutes until softened. Add in the beef and taco seasoning, and cook until browned. Stir in the salsa.
  3. Spray a 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray. Line each muffin cup with a wonton wrapper, pressing it into the bottom and sides.
  4. Spoon half of the ground beef mixture into each cup. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
  5. Press another wonton wrapper on top of the cheese layer. Then, add another layer of ground beef and cheese.
  6. Bake for 12-13 minutes until the wonton cups are crispy and golden brown.
  7. Top the shells with a dollop of sour cream, chopped tomatoes, chopped green onion, and chopped cilantro.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a healthier option.
